Royal Norwegian Embassy Funds Indonesian Women’s Political Program

October 14, 2010 — An article posted on the website of Royal Norwegian Embassy in Jakarta highlights an Indonesian program it funded,“Increasing Women’s Political Participation and Strengthening Good Governance.” The Asia Foundation implemented the program and discovered that the program has contributed significantly to enhance women representation in Indonesia’s Parliament. Women now account for 18 percent of national legislators, holding 101 seats in the current National Parliament 2009 – 2014, as compared to 11 percent in the previous Parliament.  Read the full article: “Norwegian funded programme contributes to enhanced female involvement in Indonesian politics.”
