November 10, 2010 — A blog post on National Post’s Full Comment blog links to The Asia Foundation’s Afghanistan in 2010: A Survey of the Afghan People and reports that “More Afghans than ever before are confident the country is headed in the right direction according to a new poll, despite the deteriorating security situation and growing concerns about corruption.” MacNair also points out that mobile phones are now used by 59 percent of the population. He cites that money-based cellular transactions are making a significant improvement in the Afghan corruption problem.
