August 5, 2011 — An article in San Francisco Chronicle features one of Books for Asia Pakistan partners, Bright Star Mobile Library. Books for Asia donated books to Bright Star’s bookmobile, which traverses to rural Pakistani schools. The Asia Foundation’s Pakistan Country Representative, Gareth Aicken, explains, “Library provision is reasonable within the city schools, but the rural areas are neglected compared to the city and many schools do not have a library at all. It is these schools which will be served by Bright Star.” Read the full article: “Pakistan bookmobile turns to S.F. library for aid.”
