Ministry of Foreign Affairs Presents Certificate of Registration to Asia Foundation in Vietnam
Hanoi, April 28, 2014 — On April 25 at a ceremony in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) presented Asia Foundation Country Representative Michael DiGregorio with a new certificate of registration for The Asia Foundation’s office in Vietnam.
According to a Vietnamese government decree that came into effect in March 2012, all international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs) in Vietnam are required to exchange current office permits for certificates of registration with MOFA. The Foundation in Vietnam is one of the first INGOs to receive its certificate of registration. The certificate was issued by the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM), a focal point of MOFA for relations with INGOs in Vietnam.
During the ceremony, DiGregorio noted that the Foundation has been pleased to work with PACCOM for more than a decade, and thanked PACCOM and the MOFA for its support through the re-registration process. The new certificate will be valid through April 2018.
