Kylie Anderson commenced her legal career as a Barrister-at-law in Australia where she worked as a lawyer for Legal Aid Queensland. In this role she conducted cases regarding criminal law, family law and child protection whilst moving into management roles. She then served as a Legal Advisor for the Public Solicitor's Office under the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI). In this role she performed a combination of legal, managerial, institutional strengthening and capacity building roles. After completing her role under the mission, she worked as an independent consultant working for a range of organisations including UNICEF, Save the Children, RAMSI and the Solomon Islands Government.

Kylie Anderson relocated to Timor-Leste in 2012 where she worked with the Government of Timor-Leste to assist with the drafting of State Party reporting requirements for international treaties. Immediately prior to joining the Foundation, she was the Operations Manager of the Justice Sector Support Facility in Timor-Leste where she was responsible for the administrative and operational implementation of a large development project in the justice sector.
