Janet Montag is a community leader and a philanthropist, serving on boards of impact both local and international. She is a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Global Mental Health Program at Columbia University, where the mission is to promote mental health and reduce the burden of mental illness around the globe, and of ARZU Studio Hope, whose mission is to empower women in Afghanistan and break the cycle of poverty by sourcing and selling rugs. In California, Ms. Montag serves on the Board of a college preparatory school, Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad, as well as on the Parent Advisory Board at Stanford University. She is a former Trustee of the Asian University for Women, a higher education institution for women across Asia based in Bangladesh.
Ms. Montag holds a BBA degree in Finance from Emory University and she is a former corporate finance banker with JP Morgan. While living abroad for twelve years, first in London, England and most recently in Tokyo, Japan, Ms. Montag created an Advisory Board for her daughter's preschool and was an active member of her children's international school. Together with her husband, Tom, and their three children, Ms. Montag currently lives in New York.
