Coalitions for Change

The Foundation’s Coalitions for Change (CfC) program works with local leaders in the Philippines to develop and enact transformative public policies. In just the past two years (2022-2023), the program delivered 20 new policy measures that promote economic growth, increase disaster preparedness, encourage people-centric mobility, and underscore accessibility and inclusion. Through its policy work, CfC helped improve the titling process in the country, increasing residential titles released to about a thousand percent per year, unleashing its market potential.

Part of CfC’s success is the use of the Development Entrepreneurship approach. The program is enthusiastic about equipping development leaders with the skills to effectively pursue positive change in their areas of interest through different learning streams.

Empowering local governance and civil society for self-governance

Forward Bangsamoro is a USAID-funded six-year initiative that focuses on strengthening local governance in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). It contributes to enhancing legislative and governmental capacities, supports policy development, and fosters civil society engagement for inclusive participation in the Bangsamoro’s self-governance transition. The project contributed to the crafting of the second Bangsamoro Development Plan, supported the strategic planning for the BTA Parliament, assisted in strengthening capacities of 25 career service professionals, and facilitated the Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism’s organizational development. FORWARD is committed to amplifying the voice of the Bangsamoro civil society.

Strengthening women's autonomy in Mindanao

Accelerate Women’s Entrepreneurship for Peace and Prosperity in Mindanao aims to strengthen peace and stability in Mindanao through inclusive economic development and expanding economic and entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Accelerate collaborates as well with local champions and government entities, including BARMM ministries, to create an enabling environment and advocate for policies to increase opportunities for women to participate in economic development and governance.

Accelerate has positively impacted 2,770 women from marginalized groups, including former combatants, survivors of gender-based violence, and indigenous women. The project provided 317 women and 25 women-led enterprises with capital, leading to increased employment opportunities. Accelerate is supported by the USAID and the Australian Government.
