Vietnam Scholarship Fund

VN Fund Page (Small)

Young girls from poor families in Vietnam face many struggles when seeking an education- often, they have to leave school at an early age to support their family by working, which makes them more vulnerable to trafficking. When you give to The Asia Foundation's Vietnam Scholarship Fund in any amount, you are providing girls with the life-changing opportunity to pursue an education and break the cycle of poverty.

Support our Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Girls

VN Fund (Small)

"With continued scholarship support from The Asia Foundation, I definitely want to finish high school and become a teacher.  I really hope to travel to remote areas and teach other disadvantaged children so they can also go to school like me."  - Chien, scholarship recipient.

We believe that a crucial part of combating human trafficking, empowering women, and improving communities lies in providing girls the opportunity to pursue higher education.  The Asia Foundation has been running this scholarship program in Vietnam for the past six years. Because of all the positive feedback we have received from students, families, schools, and local authorities, we are expanding this program.

For $300 a year, or $25 a month, you can support a girl through an entire year of high school.  Your contribution covers tuition, supplies, uniforms, and bicycles for transportation.

Your gift to The Asia Foundation's Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Girls in Vietnam:

  • Encourages parents to keep their daughters in school by lessening the financial burden on the family;
  • Reduces the risk that these girls will be trafficked or drop out of school to work;
  • Empowers these students and encourages them to strive for a brighter future through education; and,
  • Uplifts their parents, their schools, and their communities with pride and hope.

"Our family was so grateful for the support from The Asia Foundation.  With this scholarship, Thu can continue to go to school.  We would like to thank the donors and hope that the program will continue to support her."  - Mother of Thu, a scholarship recipient
