China has increased its GDP at a rate of roughly 10 percent per year, recently surpassing Japan as the world’s second largest economy.
The Asia Foundation recently presented “The Evolving Nature of Asian Regional Architecture: Views from ASEAN” – a series of four discussions focusing on the idea of an “East Asia Community.” This session, focusing on Burma, included Tin Maung Maung Tan, senior fellow and associate editor of “Contemporary Southeast Asia,” Institute for Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore.
