As demand for water for the 700 million people living in the world’s most densely-populated river basins – the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra – rises, new tensions are surfacing that threaten South Asia’s stability. To respond, The Asia Foundation just announced an expansion of its partnership with the Skoll Global Threats Fund, to strengthen access to information on transboundary issues and foster a regional dialogue between stakeholders on the critical issue of international water sharing. 
Asia Foundation Releases Survey of the Thai Electorate

On March 28, Kim McQuay, The Asia Foundation’s country representative in Thailand, led the release of the Foundation’s second national survey of the Thai electorate, one of the most comprehensive public perception surveys since the political unrest in April-May 2010. “The dominant view has been that Thailand and the Thai polity is deeply divided along sharp lines,” he told Radio Australia at the launch. “But what comes out from the survey… [is] that Thailand is not divided in quite the same way.” Read why.
