Alma -
This is a wonderful piece - As a Bengali American, I recently started a social business working to promote sustainable economic development practices through fashion in Bangladesh. As a development professional, I was inspired to create change because of these working conditions that you describe so well.
Warm Regards,
Sophia Hyder

Alma, what a joy to read your article! You really have a beautiful way of expressing yourself and painting a vivid picture with words. Robert and I enjoyed winding through the village on the crowded footpaths with you. Thanks!!!

Your article was an eye opener, and made me think about the incomparable hardships people face in many countries outside of the U.S., yet there is hope written on the faces of some of the people...especially the children. The photos and slide show told the rest of the story. Well done.

Excellent article Alma. Your writing conjures images and helps create a sense of place for a part of the world I'll likely never see. Thank you for putting a face on the people whose work affects those of us who wear clothes.
