Asia Foundation Releases Profile of the ‘Bangkok Shutdown’ Protesters

The Asia Foundation recently released its second survey of the “Bangkok Shutdown” protesters, providing an inside look at anti-government PDRC demonstrators still on the streets of the capital after the Feb. 2 contentious election. Survey findings include details on demographics, education levels, motivating factors, and thoughts on military intervention and use of violence. Download the full survey.

    Excellent survey and analysis. A nationwide survey to find out the degree to which these findings were typical of nationwide feeling would be very useful, especially since the survey showed that most protesters were from Bangkok/the Central Region/the South, highly educated, and of high income.Is what the protesters want the same as what Thais as a whole want?
