Foreign Policy in Focus: 83% of Afghans Support Negotiations

January 12, 2011 — An op-ed on the Foreign Policy in Focus website focuses on the war in Afghanistan. The author, Conn Hallinan, believes that the polls are on the side of those in Afghanistan and in the United States who want to end the war. He references The Asia Foundation’s Afghanistan in 2010: A Survey of the Afghan People is referenced as saying “83 percent of Afghanis want negotiations, (though 55 percent show little sympathy with the insurgency).” Read the full article: “Afghanistan: Killing Peace.”
