Radio Australia: David D. Arnold Details Arab Spring’s Impact on Asia

May 11, 2011 — Reporter Karon Snowdon from Radio Australia’s “Asia Pacific” (online and radio) segment interviewed The Asia Foundation’s President David D. Arnold about the recent Arab uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa. Arnold believes the “Arab Spring” will have an impact on Asia. As part of the interview, he highlights China, South Korea, Indonesia, and the Philippines. He further details, “In this interconnected global age, what has happened in the Middle East really matters in the larger global scheme of things. This is the most dramatic change since the fall of the Berlin Wall in terms of a global, political development. I think this is in terms of historic importance, on a par with that particular moment in our history.” Listen to the broadcast: “Do the Arab uprisings have an impact on Asia?”
