Asia Foundation Co-Hosts Conference in Melbourne on Future of International Development in Asia

San Francisco, May 13, 2013 — On May 9 and 10, The Asia Foundation partnered with the Australian National University, the Lowy Institute for International Policy, and the University of Melbourne to present “The Future of International Development in Asia and the Pacific” conference at the University of Melbourne. The program brought together leading experts to examine the rise of Asia, the future of aid, and post-2015 development framework.

Asia Foundation Vice President of Programs and conference session chair Gordon Hein joined expert speakers from Australian Aid, the Australian National University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Centre for Policy Research, Delhi, for a discussion on how diverse development actors are addressing challenges like poverty in Asia in “The rise of Asia and the future of aid.” Read more about the conference in an upcoming edition of In Asia, The Asia Foundation’s highly regarded weekly blog.
