Former President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of Wilbur-Ellis Co.
Brayton Wilbur, Sr., founding chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees (1954-1963), was an influential corporate and community leader in San Francisco. In addition to his long record of public service, Mr. Wilbur was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of Wilbur-Ellis Company, an agricultural and industrial products company founded in 1921. He previously served as Board Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; President of the World Affairs Council of Northern California; Vice President of the Japan Society of San Francisco; trustee of the Institute for Pacific Relations; member of the Northern California sponsoring committee of the American Korean Foundation; and trustee of Lingnan University of Canton, China.
Mr. Wilbur’s son, Brayton Wilbur, Jr., served as the Foundation’s Chairman of the Board from 1991 to 1995. Judith F. Wilbur, widow of Brayton Wilbur, Jr., joined the Foundation’s Board in 2006 and serves as chair of the Wilbur Family Foundation and on the Board of Directors for the Wilbur Ellis Company and the Asian Art Museum Commission.
