Chien Lee served on The Asia Foundation’s Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2016. He is a private investor based in Hong Kong who devotes most of his time to not-for-profit work involving education and youth. Mr. Lee is a Vice Chairman of the Council of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Supervisor of St. Paul’s Co-educational College and a Trustee of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He has had a long involvement with Outward Bound and is currently chairman of the Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding. Mr. Lee has served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University, his alma mater, as well as on the advisory boards of many of its constituent parts such as School of Education and School of Engineering and is currently a Director of Stanford Health Care. He is also involved with his family’s various charitable foundations, being a Governor of Lee Hysan Foundation and Chairman of Bei Shan Tang Foundation. He is a non-executive director of Hysan Development Company Limited and Swire Pacific Limited which are publicly listed companies in Hong Kong.
