Former Country Representative, Cambodia

Gavin Tritt was formerly The Asia Foundation’s Deputy County Representative in Cambodia.

He formerly served as director, Governance Programs, working on the design and implementation of the Foundation’s programs on anti-corruption, local governance, ICT/E-Governance, parliament, and central executive institutions.  He was previously the director of the Foundation’s Books for Asia program, where he was responsible for the annual acquisition and distribution of nearly 1 million donated books valued at more than $30 million to libraries in 17 Asian countries.

Previously, he served as the assistant country representative with The Asia Foundation’s program in the Philippines, where he was responsible for developing and managing programs on economic reform, transparency and counter-corruption reform, philanthropy, and information technology policy and eGovernance.  He joined the Foundation as program officer and then assistant director of the Foundation’s Economic Reform and Development programs. He was also responsible for managing the Pacific Economic Outlook (PEO) project, and co-authored the introductory chapter from The Asia Foundation publication Economies in Transition: Comparing Asia and Europe.  Previously, Mr. Tritt spent two years in China and Hong Kong with the Yale-China Association.

Education: B.A. in East Asian studies from Yale University; M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University.
