President & Chief Executive Officer, World Justice Project
Bill Neukom joined The Asia Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2013. Neukom founded the World Justice Project in 2006 and is its president and chief executive officer. Previously, Neukom served as the lead lawyer for Microsoft Corporation from 1978 to 2002. As Executive Vice President of Law and Corporate Affairs, Neukom managed Microsoft’s legal, government affairs, and philanthropic activities. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and managing general partner of the San Francisco Baseball Associates, L.P., the ownership group of the San Francisco Giants major league baseball team, from 2008 to 2011, and served as its Chairman Emeritus from 2011 to 2012.
From 2007 to 2008, he was president of the American Bar Association. Neukom serves on many organizations, including the Dean’s Council at Stanford Law School, the Board of the Pacific Counsel on International Policy, the Board of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and the Advisory Board of the William D. Ruckleshaus Center. He is trustee emeritus of Dartmouth College (Chair 2004-2007). He recently joined the Board of Fortinet, Inc. Neukom earned his law degree from Stanford University and received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. Neukom and his four children founded the Neukom Family Foundation in 1996.
