Improving Elections and Democracy in South Asia

Attending a regional conference on “Best Practices for Fair Elections: South Asian Experience in Electoral Advocacy, Observation, and Voter Education” held in Bangladesh. Conducting an interaction program and producing and broadcasting a radio show on the issue of the voter registration process.

Improving Elections and Strengthening Democracy in South Asia

Enhancing the transparency and legitimacy of scheduled and unscheduled elections in South Asia through cost-effective Asian international observation. Building community-service organizations (CSOs) education and election monitoring capacity by facilitating regional cooperation and information sharing. Improving the quality of planned and unplanned elections in South Asia by providing targeted sub-grants to local CSOs for priority voter education and election observation.

Support for election commission representatives from Bangladesh, Nepal, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka to observe India's general elections.

Society for Constitutional and Parliamentary Exercise

Providing a baseline awareness in Constituent Assembly (CA) members on procedural issues; Organizing induction training to 601 CA members on CA Secretariat approved curriculum; Printing 1,200 copies of the CA Rules of Procedure.

Asian Network for Free Elections

Support for deployment of 20 long-term observers and 80 short-term observers for the Constituent Assembly election.
