2013 Survey of the Afghan People – Washington, DC Launch

On December 11, 2013 in Washington DC, The Asia Foundation released Afghanistan in 2013: A Survey of the Afghan People, its ninth annual survey of Afghan citizens. 9,260 Afghan men and women were interviewed in 34 provinces in the country’s longest-running public opinion poll. This year’s survey is particularly significant as it reflects perceptions of Afghans in advance of 2014, a critical transition year for Afghanistan.

Mark Kryzer, Country Representative, Palwasha Kakar, Director of Women’s Empowerment and Development, Keith Shawe, Director of Survey Research, all of The Asia Foundation in Kabul, presented key findings at the United States Institute of Peace event.
