Young Lotus Circle Hosts Paint Nite to Benefit Women’s Empowerment Program
On July 31, 2013 in New York City, The Young Lotus Circle hosted a creative and informative “Paint Nite” event for 35 young professionals to paint, mingle, and support the work of The Asia Foundation’s Women’s Empowerment Program and The Lotus Circle. Event co-hosts Lin Jamison, Deshi Singh, and Tania Das successfully led The Young Lotus Circle in raising awareness and support for The Asia Foundation among a bright group of young professionals and future leaders.
The Young Lotus Circle is a diverse group of committed young professionals working together, and alongside The Asia Foundation’s Lotus Circle, to empower women and girls across Asia. Through social events, discussions, and fundraisers, The Young Lotus Circle aims to improve the social, economic, and political opportunities of women and girls to strengthen societies in developing Asia.
“The work of The Asia Foundation and The Lotus Circle resonates strongly with our peer group, particularly those who have traveled to Asia and witnessed the challenges first-hand,” explained Mrs. Jamison, Mrs. Singh, and Ms. Das. “By hosting informative, fun and creative fundraising events, we hope to spread our message and make a lasting community impact.”
