Books change lives. When you give to The Asia Foundation's Books for Asia Fund you are empowering children with literacy, creating opportunities for higher learning, and educating future leaders in 19 countries, from Afghanistan to Vietnam. Books crackle with ideas and theories – they shape and hone young people's imaginations, critical thinking skills, and their understanding of the world, and are powerful tools to combat poverty and inspire positive, long-lasting change.

In a region that is home to about two-thirds of the world's illiterate population, children's books are essential to achieving early childhood literacy and the education of Asia's next generation.

Share your love of books with those who need them the most!

BFA Lets Read

Books for Asia, in partnership with Library For All, is piloting Let's Read! Asia, a project that uses low-cost technology to provide underprivileged children with access to colorful engaging e-storybooks. A gift to Let’s Read! will equip schools and mobile libraries with tablets loaded with mother tongue- and English- language storybooks using Library For All’s cloud-based platform. The digital library app is designed for developing country contexts and only requires internet access to download additional books.

Share the most essential of childhood experiences – the magic of becoming lost in a story – with underprivileged children in developing Asia.
