The Asia Foundation’s 60th Anniversary Celebration in Korea
Event: Thursday, November 6, 2014
Seoul, Korea
The Asia Foundation improves lives and helps societies flourish. Guided by a vision for a peaceful, just, and thriving Asia, we are marking our 60 years through a year-long, global conversation on the critical issues facing Asia today.
The Asia Foundation and Friends of The Asia Foundation Korea (FOTAF) will jointly host a symposium, a panel discussion with former Korea Country Representatives, and a celebratory dinner in Seoul, Korea, on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at The Plaza Hotel to commemorate the Foundation’s 60th Anniversary, which also coincides with the ten-year anniversary of FOTAF.
The day-long event begins with the “America’s Role in Asia” Roundtable, featuring David M. Lampton, The Asia Foundation’s Chairman of the Board, as the keynote speaker. The roundtable will be followed by a panel discussion featuring five former Korea Country Representatives, whose tenures ranged from 1963 to 2014. Lastly, the 60th Anniversary Reception and Dinner will feature Ambassador Michael H. Armacost giving special remarks.
