Seung Ryun Kim is The Asia Foundation sponsored Nieman Fellow for 2014-15. Formerly a print journalist with the Dong-A Ilbo daily for 16 years, Kim is now assistant editor on Channel A’s political desk and hosts a daily show and a Sunday evening show in prime-time. He attended Seoul National University and received his master’s degree from Columbia University.
Kim will discuss his current study of the national security with a focus on U.S. policy with respect to Korea, Japan and China at Harvard University; and the news industry transformation in Korea, especially in the reporting of international news.
