In September 2018, the Asia Foundation Development Fellows arrived in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. for a two-week leadership exchange program, commencing with the Leaders on the Frontlines: Asia’s Changemakers of Today and Tomorrow Award Dinner honoring Eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon and Asia’s next-generation leaders represented by the 2018 cohort of Development Fellows. The fellows met with innovators and changemakers in the SF Bay Area and Washington D.C. for programs and policy discussions on access to information, climate migration, development innovation, and other important topics. Now on its 5th year, the leadership program provides highly qualified, young professionals from Asia with an unparalleled opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and gain in-depth knowledge of Asia’s critical development challenges.
