Watch: 2017 Asia Foundation Development Fellows
September 6, 2017
Starting this weekend, the 2017 Asia Foundation Development Fellows will arrive in the U.S. from Asia and embark on an extensive, two-week leadership training dialogue and exchange program. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. hosts a special lunch to recognize the Fellows at San Francisco’s iconic Merchant Exchange Building. Their program will bring them together with a variety of Bay Area innovators including: Wikimedia Foundation, City of San Francisco’s Chief Innovation Officer Jay Nath, Uber Technologies, Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the Stanford d.school, and in Washington: U.S. Department of State, USAID’s Global Development Lab, the World Bank, Council on Foreign Relations, and the editorial board at the Washington Post. The Foundation’s leadership development program, now in its fourth year, brings together this network of visionaries in their pursuit of creative solutions to the region’s most critical development challenges, including rising inequality, challenges of urbanization, pervasive conflicts, and violence against women.
Meet the 2017 class of Fellows in this new video: seven women and five men who are an accomplished group of change makers—inspiring young professionals working in government, the nonprofit sector, social enterprises, and media representing 12 Asian countries.
