He is a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, and writes a weekly syndicated foreign affairs column for the Miami Herald and McClatchy. His wife is California’s Lieutenant Governor Amb. Eleni Kounalakis. David M. Lampton served as chairman of the Foundation’s board from 2014 to 2018 and is the Oksenberg-Rholen Fellow at Stanford University’s Asia Pacific Research Center and Hyman Professor and director of Chinese Studies, Emeritus, School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
