South Asia Small Grants Program: Second Call for Proposals from Bhutan CSOs

February 8, 2021 — The South Asia Small Grants Program (SASGP), administered by The Asia Foundation, has opened a call for proposals for Bhutanese organizations. The regional program provides small grants for eligible civil society organizations in five South Asian countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This second round of call for proposals is exclusively for Bhutanese organizations. Applications will be accepted from now through Tuesday, March 23, 2021 local time.

The South Asia Small Grants Program focuses on four core themes in the governance sector:

  • Increasing public sector accountability and transparency
  • Strengthening the rule of law
  • Promoting civil society participation and media in these efforts
  • Strengthening democratic institutions and practices

The SASGP will help build the capacity of civil society actors to respond to governance and capacity challenges and provide expertise, mentoring, and concrete tools to sub-grantees to apply in promoting good governance and developing their organizations.

The call for proposals for Bhutan organizations opens on Monday, February 8, 2021 and will close on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 5:00 pm (GMT +6). Review application guidance including eligibility criteria, application process, grant selection process, application document, and templates for project concept note and budget.
