September 2, 2021 — The Diplomat highlights key findings from the Foundation survey Revisiting the Pandemic: Rapid Survey on the Impact of Covid-19 on MSMEs in the Tourism Sector and Households in Cambodia. The survey is part of an ongoing series addressing the need for accurate data on how the pandemic is disrupting MSMEs, vulnerable workers, and the informal economy. Read the full survey and more on the Foundation’s efforts to provide ground-level data that aids governments, corporations, and relevant stakeholders to better respond to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 across Asia.

Based on surveys conducted with around 1,000 tourism-related small and medium enterprises in various parts of the country in April 2021, the report found that 47 percent of tourism-related enterprises had ceased their operations since the beginning of the pandemic. Just 22 percent of businesses said that their operations were unchanged from before the arrival of COVID-19.
