A SURVEY OF COMMUNITY-POLICE PERCEPTIONS IN TIMOR–LESTE 2013A new Asia Foundation survey on community-police perceptions in Timor-Leste reveals an increasingly optimistic view of the country’s security situation. While feelings of insecurity remain high (64%), the survey, which polled 3,106 Timorese citizens, community leaders, and police in all 13 districts, indicates reduced levels of public concern about their safety for the first time since the survey was conducted in 2008.
