Chief of Party, USAID Sri Lanka Social Cohesion Activity

The Asia Foundation seeks an experienced chief of party (COP) for an anticipated Social Cohesion activity in Sri Lanka funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The activity will support Sri Lanka’s continued journey toward reconciliation by facilitating constructive interaction across diverse entities and identities to address grievances and misperceptions, fostering inclusive and transparent collaboration to improve equitable access to services and socioeconomic opportunity, and building individual and institutional capacities and leadership to interrupt existent or potential cycles of violence.
The successful candidate will be full-time and based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and will provide overall vision, leadership, and guidance for the program. The COP will supervise key project staff and implementing partners and ensure compliance with the ethical standards and procedures, and policies of The Asia Foundation and with USAID rules and regulations. The COP is expected to have a strategic vision; strong leadership qualities; and depth and breadth of technical expertise in social cohesion, reconciliation, peacebuilding, and social inclusion. The chief of party should also have a professional reputation, management experience, interpersonal skills, and written and oral communication skills to fulfill the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the role. The position is contingent upon donor approval and funding.
