Deadline: September 30, 2021

In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, Asia plays a crucial global role. Would you be excited at the prospect of employing your knowledge and skills to improve lives, expand opportunities, and help societies flourish across this dynamic region?

You could have this opportunity at The Asia Foundation. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, we address critical issues affecting Asia in the 21st century: governance and law, economic development, women’s empowerment, environment, and international cooperation. We work with innovative leaders and communities to build effective institutions and advance path-breaking reforms. Together with our partners, we are committed to Asia’s continued development as a peaceful, just, and thriving region of the world.

The Foundation seeks an experienced communications manager for the India Development Partnership Activity (IDPA) to join the project team in India. The program seeks to enhance USAID’s partnership with the Government of India’s Development Partnership Administration Division of the Ministry of External Affairs to deliver effective development assistance supporting U.S.-India’s mutual aims in the Indo-Pacific and beyond. The activity will establish partnerships and alliances with Indian technical and training institutes, the private sector, and other partners to support joint U.S.-India development activities in third countries. At the operational level, IDPA will initially focus and produce empirical research on Indian development assistance in three sectors: disaster risk reduction, climate-smart agriculture, and renewable energy.

The successful applicant will be based in New Delhi, India, and will be an integral member of the IDPA Program Team to ensure the effective rollout of communications activities for the project’s duration until 8/10/2023, including producing quality communications documents and liaising with USAID and partner organizations. Under the overall management and supervision of the project’s senior management team, the applicant will be responsible for implementing communication activities that are consistent with the Foundation and USAID policies, practices, and guidelines; and support the project’s monitoring and evaluation learning and adaptation activities.

The communications manager will produce content to inform and engage key government, private sector, partners, and media audiences on Indian development cooperation. Through a variety of outreach activities, including but not limited to research, events, social, and earned media platforms, the manager will convey the impact and value of the Indian development cooperation among key local and international partners.
