Junior Associate, Evaluation and Learning

The Asia Foundation’s Evaluation and Learning unit (ELU) seeks a Junior Associate (JA) to work in our San Francisco, CA office during the summer 2024 program period from June 24, 2024, to September 13, 2024.

During the 12-week program, the JA will:

• Support the development of the Foundation’s emerging approaches to impact reporting, working in close collaboration with a country office, ELU staff, and other internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and delivery of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) capacity development for country office and program staff.
• Provide MERL support to field-based projects working on strengthening governance, gender equality and social inclusion, environmental resilience, economic opportunity, and/or international cooperation. Support may include contributing to the design of MERL frameworks, fielding MERL technical questions, and providing data visualizations, among other MERL-related functions.
• Contribute to internal staff collaboration spaces, including the ELU Learning Lab, MERL Monthly Newsletter, and the MERL community of practice. Contributions will include sourcing appropriate MERL resources and drafting new content for these platforms.
• Support the development of The Asia Foundation’s organizational learning approach by assisting with developing MERL minimum standards and project technical close-out.
