Exhibit Opens with International Photographers on Assignment in Nepal, Pakistan, China
September 4 marked opening night for The Asia Foundation’s stunning photography exhibition, “Critical Issues Facing Asia: Marking 60 Years,” at the World Affairs Council in San Francisco. Artists, photographers, journalists, thought leaders, development experts, academics, and others gathered to see the special exhibit which features 14 international photographers and images that capture the six critical issues the Foundation is actively addressing as part of its 60th anniversary year-long conversation. The evening featured an artist reception and a conversation behind the striking photos with Asia Foundation photographer Ted Alcorn, and Alastair Gee, San Francisco-based correspondent of Monocle, a global magazine on international affairs. This exhibit is at the World Affairs Council through October 31. Watch a video featuring three of the featured photographers on assignment in Nepal, Pakistan, and China screened at the reception, and see photos from this event on the Foundation’s Facebook page.
