Panel to discuss Sri Lanka’s Electronic Citizen Report Card
Half of Asia’s population will live in cities by 2020, a looming test for infrastructure and services that will challenge urban governance. On July 14 in Washington, The Asia Foundation will introduce a recent study on strategic uses of data to meet the challenges of rapid urbanization. A panel, featuring Foundation President David D. Arnold and Dinesha de Silva, country representative to Sri Lanka, will discuss Sri Lanka’s Electronic Citizen Report Card, which links municipal governments to real-time, citizen feedback on urban services via an Android-based mobile application, providing a quick and cost-effective way to make sure services are reaching the public.
