Policymaker and Politician, Mongolia



Erdene Elbegdorj is a public servant and a policymaker from Mongolia. Currently, he serves as a member of the Citizens’ Representative Parliament of Bayanzurkh District in Ulaanbaatar. He strives to address many social challenges through better citizen engagement and impactful public policy at the local level. He is an advocate for democratic governance, the rule of law, and human rights in Mongolia, and is also a former United Nations peacekeeper in South Sudan. He was the first Mongolian to graduate from the University of Oxford Blavatnik School of Government with a master’s degree in Public Policy. Erdene encourages youth participation in the civil society sector through his leadership roles in the Global Shapers Community of Ulaanbaatar and the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Alumni Network of Mongolia.
