Legal Advisor, Timor-Leste



Jorginha Martins is a legal advisor for the Ministry of Health of Timor-Leste. Previously, she was a junior legal advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste. Currently, she is a board member of a national organization named Saúde ba Ema Hotu (Health for Everyone) which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families in Timor-Leste. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the National University of Timor Loro Sa’e and has experience working in justice and human rights and good governance in Timor-Leste. Jorginha worked at The Asia Foundation’s office in Timor-Leste in 2015, where she worked with judicial actors and local NGOs across the country on human rights and justice, and gender equality and women’s empowerment.
