Program Specialist, Environment and Climate Resilience, Vietnam

Nguyen Tri Thanh is the program specialist for the Environment and Resilience in The Asia Foundation’s office in Vietnam. He has in-depth experience in environmental governance, environment policy and regulations, green finance, and disaster risk management.  Thanh works within and between government and the private sector, building consensus on common goals, public-private partnerships, and regulatory reform.  He works closely with the private sector to promote green growth and sustainability, including urban flood risk reduction, energy efficiency, and building business-related resilience to natural disasters. Thanh has also led initiatives to support urban farming communities to raise their income through safe food production and agriculture tourism

Education: Engineer in Agriculture from Hanoi University of Agriculture. Master’s degree in Agriculture from Melbourne University in Australia; bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
