Former Deputy Country Representative, Vietnam

William Taylor left the Foundation in April, 2014

William Taylor was formerly the Deputy Country Representative in Vietnam. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Taylor was the deputy national security council coordinator within the Conflict, Humanitarian, and Security Department of the Department for International Development (DFID) in London. There he managed DFID’s contributions to the 2010 UK National Security Strategy, Strategic Defence and Security Review, and the National Security Council. Previously, as deputy head of DFID’s Conflict Institutions Team, Mr. Taylor oversaw a large institutional capacity-building program focused on multilateral conflict and disaster prevention, mitigation and recovery.

Prior to joining DFID, Mr. Taylor served in diverse roles including for the International Organisations Department of the UK Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Before the Foreign Office he worked as a senior project manager with the Great Britain-China Centre, implementing good governance, sustainable development, and rule of law programs in China.

Education: B.Sc. in Government from the London School of Economics; M.Sc. in State, Society, and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
