The Asia Foundation’s Myanmar office worked with a local partner and launched a new handbook focused on raising awareness of women’s legal rights in Myanmar. The Key Laws Impacting Women in Myanmar handbook presents all existing laws, rights, and regulations relevant to women in an easy-to-understand and illustrative format. In addition to including laws such as those that protect women from various forms of violence and discrimination, the handbook also includes explanations on what constitutes violence and discrimination, as well as ways to seek legal assistance (such as hotline numbers).
