Promoting Fair Elections in South Asia


Over the last several decades South Asian NGOs have been leaders and pioneers in the development and implementation of new and innovative strategies to deepen democracy and promote free and fair elections. Although South Asian organizations have deployed hundreds of thousands of non-partisan election observers and provided essential information to many millions of citizens through voter and civic education programs, language barriers mean their activities and experience are not well-known regionally or in the broader international democratization community.
