Study of Private Perceptions of Corruption (STOPP II) [Mongolian]
Despite some remarkable economic successes in recent years, there have been persistent reports in the media about the existence of corrupt practices in Mongolia. Corruption, however, is not only limited to public offices. As demonstrated by the first round of this survey in December 2012, corruption is equally entrenched in the private sector, which makes Mongolia vulnerable to bad governance and chronic income inequality among citizens. In order to tackle corruption it is important that there is an increased understanding of the nature of corruption in the private sector because of its interconnectedness with the overall corruption situation in Mongolia.
