LuanJiao Hu is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, with a focus on disability studies, gender studies, and education for people with disabilities. She identifies as a person with disability herself. She has conducted research and published on disability issues and has been teaching sessions in a core course on disability education. LuanJiao frequently shares her research on disabilities as a guest speaker at universities across the United States and China. In 2017, she was awarded the Disability Research Consortium Summer Fellowship. In 2015, she gave a talk on disability and education at a TEDx Maryland conference. LuanJiao is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in International Education Policy at the University of Maryland, from where she holds a master’s degree in the same field. She completed her undergraduate studies at Xi’an International Studies University.
