Remote Nepal, Post-Earthquake

On April 30, 2015, The Asia Foundation traveled to some of the worst affected areas of Nepal to witness firsthand the aftermath of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The Foundation is working to provide immediate emergency relief and a comprehensive assessment of needs. Through the efforts of our network of local NGO partners, over 160 families received tarps, dry food, and temporary shelter in the remote villages of Sindhupalchok district. These first steps will lead to a longer-term rehabilitation program to address health, education, livelihood, and psychological needs for marginalized and vulnerable communities.
