The Estée Lauder Companies Scholars in Vietnam
The Estée Lauder Companies is touching the lives of young women in the Mekong Delta through a unique partnership with The Asia Foundation’s Women’s Empowerment Program – The Estée Lauder Company Scholars. Since 2010, with the generous support from The Estée Lauder Companies, The Asia Foundation has awarded secondary school scholarships to 344 Vietnamese girls in the provinces of An Gian and Can Tho. The scholarships are performance-based, with scholars required to maintain or improve their academic standing to remain in the program until graduation. In this way, families are encouraged to rally around their daughter in exchange for modest but extremely valuable financial support. The first cohort of 70 scholars graduated in 2013. The second cohort of 134 scholars graduated in 2016. The third cohort of 140 scholars graduated in 2019. Now through an expanded partnership and a fourth cohort of 90 Estée Lauder Companies Scholars, The Asia Foundation continues to educate and protect at-risk girls, supporting the growth and progress of women in Vietnam. Meet some of the young girls pursuing education pathways and career dreams through these life-changing scholarships.
