The Asia Foundation Releases New Issue Briefs on Transboundary Rivers
South Asia depends heavily on trans-boundary rivers to meet water and energy needs, and vital resources are often entangled in conflicting policies of rival states. In a 15-month assessment, The Asia Foundation studied three transboundary rivers in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. A newly-released series of issue briefs describes how lack of transparency and excessive data secrecy have impeded the development of an effective regional water policy.
