The Asia Foundation’s Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Girls in Vietnam

Meet Dang Thi Anh Dao. She’s a beneficiary of The Asia Foundation’s Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Girls. Despite being an excellent student, her family’s financial situation left her uncertain if she’d be able to complete high school. But contributions from generous people like you have given her the opportunity to continue her education and and break the cycle of poverty. The Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Girls provides four-year scholarships to girls living in rural Vietnam to keep them in school. Often, poor families pull their daughters out of school to work when they reach their teens. Unfortunately, many migrate in search of employment — only to become vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking.
