The Evolving Nature of Asian Regional Architecture: Views from Cambodia

As part of its Asian Perspective Series, on November 8, 2011, The Asia Foundation presented “The Evolving Nature of Asian Regional Architecture: Views from ASEAN.” As a gradual emergence in Asia of multilateral architecture based on increasingly shared norms about interstate relations and security has emerged, Asians have begun to discuss the idea of building an “East Asia Community.” Speakers from Burma, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Thailand addressed what they believe are the challenges and opportunities to strengthening regional architecture in the coming years. Mr. Cheunboran Chanboray, Research Fellow, Cambodia Institute for Cooperation and Peace, provided the views from Cambodia.
