Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Young Leaders and the Future of Pakistan

Recently, youth leaders from around Pakistan gathered to examine some of the most critical issues facing Pakistan: the water crisis and governance challenges in the water sector, and energy, food, and sustainable and efficient ways forward. The Asia Foundation, in partnership with the School of Leadership, organized a panel discussion on “Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Young Leaders and the Future of Pakistan” at the annual Young Leaders Conference. The panel discussion was followed by a syndicate activity where 50 participants took part in designing social action projects in areas such as water conservation and awareness campaigns for their communities. The objective of the panel discussion and the syndicate was to create awareness; mobilize the youth around the critical issues of the water, energy, and food nexus; and set the stage for creating a youth network around solving these critical issues with initiatives across Pakistan.
